Making a difference…one life at a time

How to Adopt

Matching our Forgotten 4-Paws rescues with responsible pet guardians is our primary goal. We carefully interview potential adopters because we want to make sure the right match is made! Our Forgotten 4-Paws 'interviewers' do a great job of matchmaking. We work hard to fit your adoption criteria with the pets we have up for adoption. We want the adoption to be successful for both you and the cat or dog! Too often pets end up in shelters because they were never a good match for their homes in the first place. At Forgotten 4-Paws, we look for people who intend to provide a home for the life of the pet and understand what that requires.

ADOPTION PROCESS

  • First things first, our up-to date list of adoptable pets are on our Petfinder page.

  • Applications can be filled out and directly submitted here. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee that a cat will be placed with you. If you are a renter, we confirm pets are allowed with your landlord. We also require verifiable vet history so please list any prior or current vets.

  • Once you submit your application, you will be contacted by a Forgotten 4-Paws volunteer by phone or email for an interview and to talk about the specific pet that you expressed interest in. A volunteer may also contact you when we have a pet that we feel is the best match for the general criteria on your application.

  • After the interview process, we will set up a meet and greet and / or arrange a ‘foster to adopt’ arrangement to make sure it’s the right match for both rescue(s) and humans.

  • The adoption fees are $100.00 for one cat/kitten and $175 for two cats and kittens.

  • If the kitten or puppy is too young for altering at the time of adoption, Forgotten4Paws provides an alter/microchip certificate with one of our vet partners as part of the adoption fee.

*****Please note the application process may take 3-5 business days. We are all volunteers.*****
